Recent Grand Sierra Casino Review: "My friend and I recently spent 11 nights at the Grand Sierra (formerly the Reno Hilton). We were *very* pleased.
The GS welcomes pets. It was nice to see a number of well-behaved dogs being walked through the lobby. The other guests were happy to have a place that welcomes their pets.
The GS also has a non-smoking area in the casino which insulates the lobby and elevator areas from the smoking areas. My friend *hates* the smell of cigarette smoke and was very happy to not have to walk through it to get from here to there.
There are a number of places to eat right in the hotel. There was a shop to pick up sandwiches, fruit, ice, juice, etc., which wasn't too pricey. There's also a Johnny Rockets and Starbucks (which I personally couldn't do without!) We only ate one more "expensive" meal, which was still reasonable. The crispy veal parm was to die for...
Everyone that works in the hotel is very polite and very helpful. We never had to wait for anything. We did not have the high end room, but we were still very comfortable. Everything was neat and clean and WORKED.
I highly recommend the GS if you're visiting Reno."
